FCDO Travel Aware winter campaign
Travel Aware partners play a key role in disseminating important safety messaging to British Nationals before they set off abroad, with the aim to help stop preventable consular cases and to ensure they have safe and enjoyable trips.
Below are examples of the Travel Aware winter assets, as well as the full toolkit which includes many more, as well as an overview of the activity and key messages to help your organisation support the campaign at optimum times across the relevant channels. This is, where possible, alongside your ‘always on’ support and other bespoke and thematic campaigns we might be discussing with you.
This year’s assets include winter sunholidays, city breaks and ski trips. The key messages across each strand are:
- Check Travel Advice for all the latest information on your destination
- Get insurance, check your cover
- Sign up to email alerts to travel advice
- Keep your passport safe
- Winter sports – Travel Advice, insurance, ski safely, be avalanche aware and check EHIC/GHIC
The full suite of campaign assets in varying formats can be downloaded from the following WeTransfer link: WeTransfer
We appreciate that some messages and assets may be more relevant to your specific audience, and others won’t be, but we would like to share all details so we can collaborate on the best ways you can support (scoping all opportunities). Alongside your regular Travel Aware support, some ways in which you can bolster this support in the coming months is by sharing the winter-specific materials:
- across your social channels – tagging in the relevant FCDO Travel Aware and Travel Advice channels (details in the toolkit as well as draft social copy)
- in member emails/newsletters – building on some of the key messages or reminding of all of them
- on your website, i.e. via bespoke homepage banners or dedicated landing pages
- via a bespoke blog post on your website – topical posts to support messaging
- featuring messaging in PR materials such as within quotes or in notes to editors where appropriate
- or any other ways you think it might be appropriate to reach relevant audiences via your channels – we will welcome your ideas
A reminder that Kindred and the FCDO are always happy to help draft copy and share trackable UTM links, when partners offer support for the campaign as well as amplifying posts on FCDO Travel Advice social channels. We also encourage partners, when possible, to share messages in your own assets to keep the look and feel of your brand.
We would be very grateful if you could please let us know once you have supported the campaign (for reporting purposes) as well as share any relevant reporting metrics.
